Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI) Fair
The SCI POWER FOR FUTURE THAILAND Fair, organized by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI), aimed to foster knowledge exchange and collaboration for Thailand's sustainable future. The event showcased the use of higher education, science, research and innovation for sustainable development through interdisciplinary collaboration, transforming the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center into a hub of knowledge and cutting-edge technology.
As part of the fair, the British Council invited Dr. Somrudee Deepaisarn from the School of Information, Computer and Communication Technologies (ICT) at Sirindhorn International Institute of Technology (SIIT), Thammasat University, and Dr. Nguyen Truong from the School of Computing Science, University of Glasgow, to present their joint research project. Their project, 'Efficient Privacy-Preserving Federated Learning for Osteoporosis Diagnosis from Radiography Data,' was displayed at the British Council's exhibition booth. The project is a collaboration funded by the International Science Partnerships Fund (ISPF), which supports UK researchers and innovators in collaborating with international partners on multidisciplinary projects. The exhibition highlighted how this innovative approach leverages AI and Federated Learning to transform osteoporosis diagnosis, showcasing a significant step towards efficient and privacy-preserving healthcare solutions.
